| Description: |
PSI seeks candidates for a Project Director to provide vision, direction, leadership and management to an upcoming USAID Global LLIN cooperative agreement. The Project Director will serve as a resource on health information collection, analysis, use and dissemination within the USAID GH’s cooperating agency community. This full-time position is based in Washington, D.C., and reports to the Vice President, Malaria Control. Approximately 25% international travel is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversee the design and implementation of multi-country, comprehensive and sustainable LLIN projects in partnership with USAID, USAID partners, National Malaria Control Programs (NMCPs) and other global and local malaria control partners
• Effectively collaborate with all key partners and stakeholders throughout the life of the project
• Coordinate a cadre of malaria prevention experts to provide technical assistance to USAID and NMCPs on issues related to malaria policy, LLIN distribution, malaria communications and operations research
• Manage partner relationships including consortium members and sub-grantees
• Supervise core project staff, ensuring sound implementation of the financial, technical and administrative requirements of the project

| Qualifications: |
• A Master’s degree or higher in relevant subject areas, preferably in public health and/or management is required
• Proven record of excellent management, leadership, decision making and interpersonal skills
• At least 10 years of senior level management experience operating large, complex projects within developing country contexts
• Demonstrated international credibility as a leader on matters of malaria control and prevention in developing countries
• At least 5 years senior level experience working in malaria control programs in developing countries, preferably including experience in capacity building, with 15 plus years of professional experience
• Experience interacting with developing country government, international organization, other bilateral donor and civil society representatives, and senior level government officials is required
• Experience serving government agencies
• Effective English oral and written communications skills; ability to interact professionally in at least one of the following foreign languages (Spanish, Portuguese, or French) is highly preferred
