| Description: |
If you are a passionate and committed professional and want to make a lasting difference for children, the world's leading children's rights organization would like to hear from you. UNICEF seeks a Senior Adviser (Nutrition Security/Emergencies) to be based in its Programmes group, New York Headquarters.
You will provide substantial contribution in the design, planning, management and monitoring of programming to assure optimal nutrition security during acute and chronic emergencies, focusing on the adequate organizational response for nutrition in emergencies as described in the Core Commitment for Children (CCCs), Medium Term Strategic Plan (MTSP), and other relevant organizational documents and assures that new strategic and programming developments are adequately addressed and included. You will also provide support to regional and country offices in terms of capacity building, strategic planning and implementation of operational guidelines to assure readiness and adequate response to emergencies. You will assure good representation as well as cooperation with relevant sections within UNICEF, with other UN agencies and NGOs as well as with the IASC Nutrition Cluster.

| Qualifications: |
Your profile:
Advanced University degree in nutrition, or a related science with expertise in nutrition, public health and food security issues, expertise in emergency nutrition.
Ten years progressively responsible experience in research, programme management or advisory support in the area of nutrition, public health or food policy at national level, and at least 5 years at international level. Significant country level experience with the management of nutrition and public health issues in emergencies highly desirable. Working experience with international organizations of a least five years.

Functional competencies: analytical and conceptual thinking, communication, decisiveness, influence, judgement, leading vision and change, managing resources, networking, planning, setting standards and monitoring work, strategic and global thinking, stress management, tact, team leadership, and technical knowledge/technical leadership.
Fluency in English and in another UN language required.
