The Bureau of School Health (OSH) is a joint program of the Department of Education and the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene responsible for promoting the health of the 1.3 million school children enrolled in approximately 1,800 public and non-public schools in New York City. Services to students include case management of chronic health problems, preventive health screenings, urgent care, medication administration, preventive counseling, health education, referral for care and assurance of ongoing effective treatment. OSH has been the provider of public health services in the schools for 100 years.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), a recognized leader and innovator in public health and mental hygiene services nationally and internationally, seeks an Executive Program Associate to provide administrative support to the Assistant Commissioner (AC) and Director of Special Projects. The Program Associate will: assist the AC and Director of Special Projects in administrative day-to-day operations in the Bureau; coordinate and confirm meetings, maintain calendars, and answer phones for the AC and Director of Special Projects; serve as the AC and Director of Special Projects liaison between the Department of Education and other DOHMH bureaus; work closely with School Health’s central office and field staff in coordinating special projects; coordinate space and conference use for Central Office; maintain organized filing system; perform internet searches as requested; perform basic data entry and analysis as requested; maintain communication for the AC and Director of Special Projects with internal and external parties as requested; assist in development and maintenance of schools and staffing databases as requested; assist in development of PowerPoint presentations as requested; assist in special projects as assigned by the AC and Director of Special Projects.

| Compensation: |
$22.64 - $32.91 Per hour |
| Qualifications: |
accredited college and three years of satisfactory, full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, one year of which must have been in an administrative capacity or supervising staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than moderate difficulty; or
2. An Associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory, full-time progressively responsible experience as described in "1" above; or
3. A four-year High School diploma or its educational equivalent and five years of satisfactory, full-time progressively responsible experience as described in "1" above; or
4. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1", "2" or "3" above. However, all candidates must possess the one year of administrative or supervisory experience as described in "1" above. Education above the High School level may be substituted for the general clerical/administrative experience (but not for the one year of administrative or supervisory experience described in "1" above) at a rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for 6 months of experience up to a maximum of 3 ½ years.
NOTE: NEW YORK CITY RESIDENCY IS REQUIRED WITHIN 90 DAYS OF APPOINTMENT.
