| Description: |
The Prevention Research Center is participating in the planning of the new New Orleans and trying to incorporate health goals into these plans. As the city is rebuilt, we will also conduct research on the impact of changing neighborhood environments on health and health-related behavior. We will serve as a resource for policy-makers, local organizations, and community members on the environment and its impact on health. While we continue to have a particular interest in obesity and the behaviors that lead to it (physical activity and diet), in view of the changed situation, we are broadening our focus to include other health problems influenced by the environment. |
