Description: This position exists to lead the state-wide oral disease prevention program including leading the efforts to reduce the impact of oral disease in Minnesota by identifying emerging oral health issues and needs and facilitating the development, implementation and monitoring of a state oral health prevention plan and public health goals. This position builds capacity and directs planning, implementation and evaluation of programs for oral health systems improvement, statewide oral disease surveillance, community-based education and support, public awareness of oral disease and its risk factors and reduction of oral health disparities in pregnant woman, children, homeless, disabled, dependent elderly and other at-risk populations across the lifespan. The position supervises the staff within the Oral Health Program of the Center for Health Promotion, Division of Health Promotion and Chronic Disease. The position represents the state in national oral health meetings.
   
Compensation: $62,911-$90,515/yr
Qualifications: Qualifications: Master's degree in Public Health, Public Administration, Health Policy, Health Research, Health Education or related field AND Three years of advanced professional experience as a manager or supervisor of professional staff in public health, health-related human services field or in a health care entity. Experience must include responsibility for program planning, implementation and evaluation. OR Bachelor's degree in the above listed areas AND Five years of advanced professional experience as a manager or supervisor of professional staff in public health, health-related human services field or in a health care entity. Experience must include responsibility for program planning, implementation and evaluation. OR Consideration will also be given to applicants with a D.D.S. / D.M.D. degree, current Mn license or eligibility for Mn licensure and three years experience in the practice of dentistry and/or in a public health program. Experience should include the ability to plan, organize and direct oral health programs and research at the state level as well as direct/supervise the work of individual staff and work teams. Preferred Qualifications: DDS/DMD degree and/or Master's degree in Public Health or related field. Experience in the practice of dentistry.
