Description: Help plan and provide technical assistance to national partners to support the initiatives of CDC’s Healthy Communities program. Work with staff and grantees from Y-USA, National Recreation and Parks Association, National Association of Chronic Disease Directors, and National Association of City and County Health Officials (Category A partners) to help accomplish policy and environmental changes that support healthy lifestyles. Provide assistance on SOPHE meetings and serve as an ambassador to selected national coalitions, partners.
   
Compensation: Contingent upon funding, this position will be supported by a cooperative agreement from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention until 9/2013.
Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in health education or public health required; certified health education specialist (CHES) preferred. • 2-3 years experience at the community level, working in coalitions and with community partners. • Strong interpersonal, verbal/written communication and presentation skills • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and online survey instruments • Ability to work and reason independently, as well as within a team • Detail oriented and ability to follow tasks through to completion; demonstrated ability to multi-task • Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines
