Description: The Farmers Market Nutrition Education Coordinator will plan, develop, direct, administer, and evaluate the Stellar Farmers Market Program. Specifically, the coordinator with manage the implementation of the Just Say Yes to Fruits and Vegetables Curriculum in Farmers Markets in New York City via a federal Food Stamp Nutrition Education grant. JOB DESCRIPTION: Duties will include: ? Coordinate development and delivery of a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program in eligible New York City Farmers Markets; ? Maintain evaluation protocol and report evaluation outcomes according to City, State, and Federal guidelines; ? Hire, supervise, and manage 4 part-time nutrition educators; ? Develop and submit reports on program activities and outcomes; ? Foster a team environment by participating in team meetings, planning and communication activities; ? Examine Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Guidelines and apply to programming activities; ? Contribute to needs assessment activities for the Nutrition Education Program; ? As needed, represent Program at City or State level meetings; ? Conduct sites visits and nutrition education at select markets across the City.
   
Compensation: $58,859 - $73,871
Qualifications: QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: 1. A Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental or social science and one year of full-time experience in a responsible supervisory, administrative or research capacity in the appropriate field of specialization; or 2. A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental or social science and three years of responsible full-time research experience in the appropriate field of specialization; or 3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least a Master’s degree in an appropriate field of specialization and at least two years of experience described in “2” above. Two years as a City Research Scientist Level I can be substituted for the experience required in “1” and “2” above. NOTE: Probationary Period Appointments to this position are subject to a minimum probationary period of one year. NOTE: NEW YORK CITY RESIDENCY IS REQUIRED WITHIN 90 DAYS OF APPOINTMENT. NOTE: IF YOU WERE EDUCATED IN A FOREIGN SCHOOL, YOU MUST SUBMIT A FOREIGN EDUCATION EVALUATION, FROM AN APPROVED ORGANIZATION, WITH YOUR RESUME.
