Description: The Bureau of School Health-Office of School Health (BSH-OSH) provides direct school health services to over 1.3 million general education school children in this city. Without this position, BSH-OSH will not be able to meet the legislative mandates governing school health services in New York City. JOB DESCRIPTIONS: --Oversee the production and administration of monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reports for the Bureau of School Health-Office of School Health’s, Vision and Hearing (V&H) Program --Review, analyze and evaluate program data in consultation with the V& H Program Director on improvement of operational processes utilizing automation tools; Assist with the development of data entry procedures; consult with the Bureau’s MIS Unit on the processing and maintenance of program data related to vision and hearing screenings, health care providers and vital follow-up activities; --Provide technical assistance to V & H staff members on data operation issues; --Act as a liaison between the MIS unit and the V& H Program’s Director on providing program data for internal and external distribution and to define reporting needs of V & H data to MIS unit; --Train permanent and temporary staff on utilization of V & H databases; and support the V & H Director with special projects.
   
Compensation: $28.81- $44.86 Per hour
Qualifications: accredited college in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies or a closely related field, and two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in one or a combination of the following: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, or fiscal management; or in a related area. 18 months of this experience must have been in an executive, managerial, administrative or supervisory capacity. Supervision must have included supervising staff performing professional work in the areas described above; or 2. Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of professional experience in the areas described in "1" above, including the 18 months of executive, managerial, administrative or supervisory experience, as described in "1" above. NOTE: IF YOU WERE EDUCATED IN A FOREIGN SCHOOL, YOU MUST SUBMIT A FOREIGN DEGREE EVALUATION WITH YOUR RESUME. NEW YORK CITY RESIDENCY IS REQUIRED.

Other: PREFERRED SKILLS Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficient in MS-Access, MS-SQL, and MS-Office. Some relevant IT work experience preferred.
