Description: DIVISION/PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The Lead Poisoning Prevention Program’s (LPPP) mission is to prevent and control childhood lead poisoning in New York City. This is an exciting job opportunity for a highly motivated individual to contribute to childhood lead poisoning prevention through administrative support, and to ultimately improve the health of children, particularly in low-income communities, with the goal of eliminating childhood lead poisoning by 2010. JOB DESCRIPTION: Planning, organizing, directing and evaluating professional and clerical staff whom provide comprehensive administrative services to the Lead Poisoning Prevention Program. These services include personnel, budget, payroll, OTPS, materials and facility management, and related functions. Designing and implementing new systems and procedures to improve Program effectiveness and efficiency. Planning and developing grant applications for Federal and State funding. Preparing Program budget, monitoring and tracking LPPP expenditures, and maintaining fiscal integrity among City, State, and Federal funding sources. Working with Program’s senior management staff to discuss and plan Program activities, policies, and practices. Representing the Program in working with the Division’s Human Resources Liaison, Budget and Grants Officers, and intra and inter-agency representatives on budget, fiscal, and administrative matters. Report to: Director of Lead Poisoning Prevention Program.
   
Compensation: $52,645 - $81,961
Qualifications: QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: A Master's degree from an accredited college in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, or a closely related field, and two (2) years of satisfactory full-time professional experience working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; or in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; or in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, fiscal management, or in a related area, eighteen (18) months of which must have been in an executive, managerial, administrative or supervisory capacity. Supervision must have included supervising staff performing professional work in the areas described above; or 2. A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four (4) years of professional experience, including the 18 months of executive, managerial, administrative or supervisory experience, as described in (1) above. NOTES: IF YOU WERE EDUCATED IN A FOREIGN SCHOOL, YOU MUST SUBMIT A FOREIGN DEGREE EVALUATION WITH YOUR RESUME. NEW YORK CITY RESIDENCY IS REQUIRED WITHIN 90 DAYS OF APPOINTMENT.

Other: PREFERRED SKILLS: Proven experience in administration (Personnel and OTPS) and management. Experience managing complex budgets, writing and administering grants and contracts, and supervising professional staff. Excellent writing ability and strong interpersonal communication skills.
