Description: The Study Coordinator for the UC Irvine Vanguard Center of the National Children's Study will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the study, including hiring, supervising staff, coordinating the work of all field team members, scheduling data collection visits, and working with the Investigators to ensure that the common protocol is carried out correctly in the field. Study Coordinator will work closely with the UC Irvine Cores to facilitate work across the cores. Will also liaison with Study Coordinators from other NCS Study Sites and the NCS Coordinating Center.
   
Compensation: Salary: $52,914 to $69,705 Work Schedule: M-F Full-time Career Position
Qualifications: Required: Ph.D. in Environmental Health, Epidemiology, and Nursing, Developmental Psychology or field relevant to the NCS, or Master's degree and minimum of 10 years of experience with progression of responsibility may be substituted. Demonstrated experience coordinating large field data collection teams, overseeing off-site data collection teams, leadership and personnel management, mentoring and development, staffing utilization and recruitment of research projects with progression of responsibility. Demonstrated experience hiring, training and supervising field research staff and ability to motivate them to be committed to the goals and practices of the study. Skills to assist in the preparation of materials for IRB submission and preparation of technical progress reports to NCS. Skills to utilize PC with software such as Word, Excel, Power Point and other research software. DESIRED Research experience with women of child-bearing age, infants and children. Bilingual in Spanish.
Start Date: 10/01/08
Other: Due to the scope of the research project being conducted, it may be necessary for the incumbent to have an irregular work schedule, including evenings and weekends, in order to train and supervise the study and field staff. There will be travel required to Rockville, MD prior to the beginning of the subject enumeration field work for extended training in order to do local a Train-the-trainer model. Final candidate subject to background check.
