| Description: |
The PH Division Manager provides leadership for the Family Health Division of a large local Health Department serving Dane County, WI (population approx. 500,000), which is urban, suburban and rural. Is responsible for Division leadership, including strategic planning, administration, direction and operations. Supervises 3-4 PH supervisors who are responsible for 50 multidisciplinary professional staff and a variety of programs, including the WIC Program, community nutrition education & promotion, perinatal and family health programs, breastfeeding education and support, oral health programs, interpreter services, well child clinics and coordination of academic-practice linkages for undergraduate & graduate students pursuing professional careers in nursing, PH, dietetics, PH nutrition, human ecology, health promotion & health education, MCH, preventive medicine, and chronic disease and communicable disease prevention and control. Collaborates and coordinates across multiple PH programs and divisions, across city & county departments, and with local, regional and state partners on an ongoing basis. Works collaboratively with community partners to promote the public's health, including the health and well-being of diverse, at-risk populations; fosters the rights and responsibilities of the community in identifying its health-related assets, needs, opportunities and priorities; and, collaborates in the identification, development and sustaining of appropriate community partnerships and other resources to achieve desired health outcomes and social policy outcomes. Provides leadership related to community and system-building, the Core PH Functions, the 10 Essential PH Services, the 2010 Healthiest Wisconsin state health plan, healthcare & social policy-making, principles of social justice, a commitment to excellence and, quality assurance. |

| Compensation: |
Starting annual salary is $63,149 (Increases to $63,773 on 6/22/08). Salary may vary depending on qualifications. |
| Qualifications: |
A Masters Degree in Public Health, Public Health Nursing, Public Health Administration or a closely related field from an appropriately accredited college or university and at least five years of experience in public health, including two years in a supervisory capacity. Must have current valid Wisconsin driver's license. If applicable, must have current valid WI professional licensure related to specific discipline. |
